What your profile is
Your profile is how you appear to everyone else in the workspace. Wherever your name shows up — beside a document you drafted, an edit you made, an approval you signed off, or an entry in the activity history — it's your profile that fills it in.
It's a personal setting, not a workspace one. Changing your name or avatar updates how you look across every workspace you belong to; it doesn't change the workspace's own brand. Your company logo and colours are handled separately in your branding profile.
Set your display name
Your display name is the single source of truth for how you're labelled throughout waxTable. Use the name your teammates would recognise — usually your real first and last name.
Open your account settings
Go to the settings area and open your personal profile.
Edit your display name
Type the name you'd like teammates to see and save.
Check it on your work
Open a recent document or the activity history to confirm the new name appears as expected.
Add or change your avatar
An avatar makes it easy to tell at a glance who did what — especially in busy projects with several contributors. You can upload a photo or image; it's cropped to a square and stored against your profile.
- Use a clear, well-lit headshot or a simple square logo.
- Square images work best, since the avatar is shown as a circle or rounded square.
- If you don't upload one, your initials are used as a fallback.
Where your profile appears
Your name and avatar surface in the places where teamwork happens, so it's always clear who's behind a change or a decision.
| Place | What shows |
|---|---|
| Documents & edits | Who drafted or last edited, shown in the editor and history |
| Approvals | Who requested, approved or rejected a document |
| Projects | Contributors on a project's list and board views |
| Activity & audit | Your name against each recorded action |
None of this is what your clients see on a finished document. What recipients receive is governed by your branding and the address you send from your domain.
Keep your details current
If your name changes or you join under a placeholder, update your profile so the activity history and approvals stay readable for everyone. It only takes a moment, and it makes the audit trail genuinely useful.
