Reuse client & deal context

When a deal is won, turn the proposal into a scope, contract and invoice without re-entering the client, the numbers or the brand — Waxe already knows the deal.

The won deal is the start of the work

Winning a proposal isn't the finish line — it's the moment the paperwork usually begins. The same client, scope and figures have to flow into a scope of work, a contract and then invoices. waxTable lets you carry that context forward instead of retyping it.

Reuse the deal: turn a won proposal into a scope, contract and invoices, reusing what Waxe already knows.

What carries over

Because every document for a deal lives in the same project, the context that mattered in the proposal is right there for the next document.

  • The client and who you're addressing.
  • The scope and deliverables you agreed.
  • The pricing and figures from the proposal.
  • Your branding — colours, type and logo — applied automatically.

From proposal to invoice

  1. Win the proposal

The client accepts. Mark the deal won — see Project phases & status.

  2. Draft the next document in the same project

Start a scope of work, a contract or an invoice inside the project that holds the won proposal.

  3. Let Waxe reuse the context

Waxe pulls the client, the scope and the figures forward, so you confirm rather than re-enter them.

  4. Review and refine

Check the draft in the paged editor; type your changes or tell Waxe what to adjust.

  5. Approve and send

Apply any internal sign-off, then send from your own domain and track opens and reads.

Each document keeps its own judgment

Reuse doesn't mean copy-paste. Waxe carries the facts forward but writes each document for its job: a scope defines and bounds the work, a contract protects both sides, an invoice is built to get paid. See The 11 document types.

  • A scope turns the proposal's promises into precise deliverables and exclusions.
  • A contract frames the same agreement in terms that protect you.
  • An invoice converts the agreed figures into something a client can pay against.

Always read before you send

Carried-forward context is a head start, not a rubber stamp. Numbers and scope can shift between the proposal and the signed work, so confirm the details in each new document.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to re-enter the client and pricing for each document?

No. When the documents live in the same project, Waxe reuses the client and the figures from the won proposal, so you confirm them rather than typing them again.

Will the new document copy the old one word for word?

No. Waxe reuses the facts but writes each document for its purpose — a scope defines the work, a contract protects you, an invoice gets paid — each with the right structure.

What if the price changed after the proposal?

Edit the figures in the new document before you approve it. Reused context is a starting point; always check pricing, dates and scope on contracts and invoices.

Does my branding carry over too?

Yes. Branding lives at the workspace level, so every document Waxe drafts — first or fifth — is already on-brand. See Set up your branding profile.

Can I reuse context across different deals?

Reuse works within a project, where the documents share one deal's context. For a separate engagement, start a new project so each deal stays clean and self-contained.
