The principle: your data is portable
waxTable is where you draft the documents that win and run your work — but it should never be a place your data gets trapped. You can take your documents with you, and you can ask us to delete what we hold.
Data you can't get out of a tool isn't really yours. Export and erasure are rights, not favours.
Exporting your documents
The most common export is the document itself. Any finished document can be downloaded as a PDF — the same paginated output you'd send to a client.
Open the document
Open it in the paged editor.
Download a PDF
Use the export option to produce a print-ready PDF — see export and download PDFs.
Repeat across a project
Work through a project's documents to keep a full local copy of an engagement.
Exporting account and project data
If you need more than individual PDFs — for example, a broader export of your workspace data for a migration or a subject access request — we can help arrange it.
- Tell us the scope: a project, a workspace, or data relating to a particular person.
- We'll confirm what's available and the format we can provide.
- Start the request through contact support or email support.
Erasing your data
When you no longer need data in waxTable, you can delete documents and projects within your workspace, or ask us to erase your account data entirely.
- Delete individual documents and projects from within your workspace.
- Request full erasure of your account data when you close your account.
- Ask for deletion of data relating to a specific individual, where you're acting on their request.
What we may retain — and why
Erasure removes your content, but a careful service keeps a small amount of information for legitimate reasons: to meet legal and tax obligations, to maintain financial records for billing, and to keep the tamper-evident audit trail intact.
For example, billing records connected to your invoices may be retained as required for tax — see invoices and tax IDs. For the precise scope of what's deleted and what's retained, our processing terms and the DPA are the source of truth.
