What "stalled" actually means
Generating a document is real work: Waxe plans the structure, prices and drafts the copy, then designs the pages around your brand. That usually takes a few minutes. A genuine stall is when nothing has changed for a good while past that — the progress sits still, or an error appears.
First moves
Wait, then refresh
Leave it a minute or two, then reload the page. A draft that finished behind a frozen progress indicator will appear once the page reloads.
Check your connection
A dropped or flaky connection mid-generation is the most common cause. Confirm you're online, then try again.
Look for a partial draft
Open the project. If a partial document was created, you can keep it and ask Waxe to continue, or discard it and start a clean generation.
Retry the generation
Start the draft again. Most one-off stalls clear on a second attempt without any change to your brief.
If it keeps failing
When a retry doesn't help, the brief itself is usually the lever. A clearer, better-scoped brief gives Waxe a cleaner path to a finished draft.
- Tighten the brief — state the job, the client and roughly what the document should cover.
- Pick the right document type so Waxe builds the correct structure from the start.
- Split a very large job into a smaller first document, then reuse it for the rest.
- Remove broken links or unreadable attachments from anything you've pointed Waxe at.
For more on shaping the input, see Brief Waxe for a great draft.
Credits and failed runs
waxTable deducts credits for the AI work a task actually uses, not per document or per word — and a task that fails is never charged. If a generation can't complete, the sensible question is whether any credits still counted.
When to escalate
If you've waited, refreshed, retried and tightened the brief and it still fails, it's time for us to look.
- The same brief fails repeatedly across separate attempts.
- An error message appears every time rather than a slow finish.
- A draft completes but is clearly truncated or missing whole sections.
